Some will say there are small data plans for the poor masses but I always ask; will the small data plans sustain throughout the whole tutorial session? No.
The online schooling is now left for the rich kids whose parents can afford can afford to subscribe to the data plans when the need occurs.
The worst part of subscribing to these data plans is that the plans exhaust even before the expiration date.
Lack of Computer Knowledge
Some may be asking what I meant by lack of computer knowledge. Well, continue reading to see the reason.
It may surprise you to know that most Nigerian students in rural areas have little or no knowledge when it comes to operating a computer.
They see operating a computer as a very difficult task that will land them in trouble if anything should go wrong. They are still afraid of the computer set.
Then I ask again, how will these students in rural areas learn online when they are having great difficulties operating a computer?
These students face a great difficulty adapting to the real world of computer literates.
These students are to be made to know that operating a computer is not a Do-or-die matter.
They are to left go of those fears and operate the computer courageously without stress.
Operating a computer actually is fun and entertaining, one should not be left out.
Lack of Electricity
Almost all internet devices needs electricity for the proper functioning of such a device.
In situation where there is little or no availability of electricity, it hinders online schooling.
There are some parts in Nigeria that hardly have electricity, they have electric poles and wires but hardly have light in a month.
The lack of electricity affects Nigerian students the most in the sense that there is no light that will enable you partake in the online tutorial.
Availability of Electricity in some parts of Nigeria has become a fork tale because they hard believe in it anymore.
Poor Network/Internet Connection
Hmmm, this is a major challenge facing Online Schooling in Nigeria as there is always poor internet connection.
Many Nigerian students face a great difficulty online because of weak internet connection.
At times, one will be stuck in the middle of watching online tutorials because of poor internet connection.
Most times, one may experience a sound mismatch because of this.
Schooling online with weak internet connection is a great hindrance to learning which tends to frustrate students sometimes.
The cost of Smart phones, Laptops and Computer Sets
One needs to have at least one of the above mentioned devices before one can access the internet.
However, the cost of these devices is so expensive that most Nigerian students cannot afford.
How can a student school online if he does not have the necessary equipment to facilitate his learning?
The cost prices of these devices are to be meant in such a way that every student can afford to buy at least of them.
Even though, there are cyber café to help but there is nothing like having a device of your own where you can access the internet anytime any day.
